Benefit Majorette Cream Booster Blush Review, Swatches & Giveaway!

I spotted Benefit's Majorette Cream Booster Blush on Really Ree's blog last month, and I knew I had to have it when it became available. The Ulta Benefit S.A. told me it would launch in September, so I made a note to myself to check back, but I so wanted this product right now! I happened to spot in on HSN's site earlier this week, so I ordered it. Oddly, it's not showing up at all anymore on their site. EDITED: As of 8/2 it is back in stock: http://www.hsn.com/products/benefit-majorette-cream-blush/7545286. I ordered an extra one to use as a giveaway, so one of you is in luck! I've been absent for quite a while, but I'm hoping real life has settled down a bit so I can pick up posting again. Just leave me a comment with your eMail so I can contact you below, tell me how good your baton twirling skills are, and I'll draw one random winner to receive this product on Monday, August 4. Now for a look at this beauty!

I'd be lying if I said the packaging wasn't a big part of the allure I felt for this blush, but it most certainly was! Now that I have it in my hands, it is just as lovely as I'd imagined it would be. A vintage look, rose-gold foil lettering and graphics, well-made, and larger than I'd thought it would be. Perfect!

The case measures more than 2" across, and it's just over 1" high. It's housed in a heavy molded plastic composition container with a magnetic closure, and there's a mirror inside the compact. The product itself is domed, and is protected with a removable plastic shield. There's also a little brochure that explains the products and it's uses.

Below are more photos than necessary, but it's so pretty, I couldn't pick just one!

Majorette is marketed as a "Booster Blush to amplify your flush". It can be used alone or under another blush to add a natural glow and kick up the color a notch. It seems to change the color and undertones of some of the powder blushes I've used over it, but I'm still experimenting. I find it also helps powder blush adhere and wear longer. It's a cream to powder formula that is extremely silky, smooth, and blendable. I add just a touch for an instant natural glow, or build it up for a nice pop of color. I'm enjoying this product alone right now, but I may utilize it more as a "booster" come Fall. I use my finger to apply, then blend with either my fingers or a brush. It has a light peach scent, that's much more enjoyable than overwhelming. I would describe the shade as a very nicely pigmented creamy peachy/terra cotta color.

Here's a look at the ingredients.

This will be available in September, and I paid $28.00 (0.24 oz.) for mine from HSN. Do you need this blush? Of course not, but it will make you happy, and it performs very nicely. If you'd like a chance to win your very own Majorette before they become readily available, just leave a comment below, let me know how good your baton twirling skills are (mine are not good!), and leave your eMail so I can contact you if you win. U. S. entries only, please. Entries will be accepted until I draw a winner via Random.org on Monday morning, August 4, 2014.

  1. Welcome back! Wow, that blush is GORGEOUS and I love the packaging! Benefit always seems to suck me in with their packaging.

I haven't picked up a baton in probably a good 20 years or so, so I'd say that my baton twirling skills are pretty much non-existent, haha!
