Spotted! Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Nail Color

Nouveau Cheap made me aware of a new offering from Sally Hansen called Lustre Shine, and I spotted them today at my local Meijer. Below is a look at the display, and either someone already snatched up the other 2 shades, or my Meijer just hasn't filled those slots yet. According to one of Nouveau Cheap's post on this collection, it appears that Azure (view it here) is one of the missing shades. Polish Insomniac informs us that there are indeed 8 shades, and she also has some more information about this collection directly from Sally Hansen's PR team. You can read more here.

L-R: Moonstone, Scarab, Copperhaead, Firefly, Lava, Plume
(shades are in the same order on color wheels)

I haven't had a chance to use these on my nails yet, but my initial thoughts are that they are somewhat similar to the China Glaze New Bohemian Collection. I have 2 shades from that collection, and that's what popped into my mind as I was applying them to the nail wheels. They are duo chrome/multi chrome, some more subtle than others. Of the 6 shades I have, 5 of them are a metallic/chrome finish, and one of them, Lava, has a sparkly, glass-flecked finish. This one reminded me of MAC's Bad Fairy.

These are priced at $5.99 each (0.33 fl. oz.).

  1. A few of these look like SH's old Nail Prisms polishes. Heck, they could totally kill the competition if they'd just redo all of that line's colors in new packaging. I would love a chance at getting some polish that are close to the original Turquoise Opal, Ruby Sapphire, or Emerald Amethyst with out having to stalk Ebay or pay a ton.

  2. Awesome find! These shades remind me of the Nail Prisms, but not sure if they are exact dupes from what I have seen in your photos when compared to the Prisms I own

  3. Thank you for the swatches! :D I hope they'll rerelease the Nail Prisms, but for now, I'm happy with this offering! I don't know why, but I really like Moonstone even though the duochrome effect is very faint.

  7. They look way better on the polish wheel than on the nail - nothing really does much on the nail from these - I was super disappointed from these esp when I had seen the SH graphics of the bottles - but should not the graphics almost always look way different than the actual bottles and then the product different yet frequently. I am saving my $ - Moonstone is nothing new at all - I love my old OPI Pearl of Wisdom & sticking with that. Lava is the only one I might buy if I ever seen them.

  8. BTW - the graphic SH released only has 6 shades on it - makes me wonder if the production on #2 and #4 did not make it? Like some big fail in getting the pigments they wanted or maybe in the mixing they went muddy in color?

  9. I agree w/ other posters about the Prisms line. Aside from the Prisms line, SH needs to bring back the Chrome line. That was THE shiniest nail polish ever. I loved it.
