Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Complete Master List & Swatches
Revlon recently released a new lip product called
Colorburst Lip Butter, and I absolutely love these. Between three of my friends and myself, we managed to come up with all twenty of them and I thought it might be helpful to put together a master list. We found ours at various Rite Aid and Walgreens stores and they retail for $7.49 each. Rite Aid had them 40% off last week, and this week Walgreens has them buy on get one half off. We were all armed with $1.00 off Revlon coupons, so that helped out also. In addition, I had a 10% off register tape from Rite Aid, along with a $5.00 off register tape, which I believe are based on the Wellness card. So shop around to see who has them on sale, and ask your Walgreens sales associate if they have any of the $1.00 coupons behind the counter.

The lip butters are packaged with various semi-translucent caps with a quilted or woven pattern. The displays we saw were all the same table top model with only two or three of each shade. The "new" sticker is attached, but I didn't see anything about this being a limited edition product, so hopefully they'll be permanent.

The reason I love these butters so much, is simply because they feel, look and wear so nicely. They are softer and more sheer than a lip stick, but not at all sticky like many glosses. They're smooth and creamy--love the texture, well pigmented for the type of product that they are, and they leave my lips feeling ultra moisturized and soft. They're a sheer lip stick with the smoothness of a gloss. They remind me very much of my Chanel Rogue Coco Shine lip products (not sure what to call these newfangled things, not a stick, not a gloss!), without the high price and with preferred wearability. The lip butters provide more than a sheer wash of color, but less color than the average lip stick. They wear well, and after testing how long they wore vs. the Chanel, the Revlon product definitely has better staying power.

The Revlon Lip Butters are full sized, and they have an angled top rather than the typical rounded point that's seen on a lip stick.

When compared to a Chanel Rogue Coco Shine, you can see that the packaging is the same size. The product weight is a little smaller on the Revlon at 2.55 g. vs. 3 g. on the Chanel. The products themselves appear to be the same diameter, and the only difference is that the Chanel has a slight dome shape at the top of the color product.

Here's a quick look at all of the shades that Revlon offers in the Lip Butters. These photos were taken indoors in the sun near a window (top photo of each group), and also indoors using natural lighting (bottom photo of each group). I used two light-handed swipes for each color, and the color is buildable to a certain point. Keep in mind that these are swatched on my inner arm, which is pale :) They will appear darker on your lips, because they're more pigmented! All photos are clickable for a larger image.

Here's an alphabetical list of all of the names and numbers for reference. We all had so much fun tracking these down and getting some great pricing in the process! Clearly, we need to find a more meaningful hobby~ha-ha! I hope this helps some of you out who are interested in this product.

These look great! I like Raspberry Pie - that's my perfect shade!
ReplyDeleteSweet Tart and Raspberry Pie look great!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, I was looking all over to find out how many shades there are. Now I can have 1 stop reference lol We don't get these in Canada yet, but hopefully soon
ReplyDeleteOh I am so happy you posted all of these. I am on a mission to find them, heading to my "good" Rite Aid today after work. They sound just perfect! I want pink truffle or fig jam NOW!
ReplyDeleteOh these are gorgeous! I'll have to check for these when I'm in the US in November - we never seem to get the good stuff up north.
ReplyDeleteoooh these are such pretty and moisturizing looking shades! i want to try them out

Till tomorrow they are on sale for $6.99 and you get $6 EB back when you spend $15 (limit 6) at CVS (on Revlon)! Makes them just under $5 a piece.
ReplyDeleteGreat timing for me, I've been looking to purchase some new lip colors :)
ReplyDeleteThese sound like Heaven! One of these days I'll have to buy them. Thanks for the swatches Mary. That helps me to see what they really look like. Revlon seems to be good about sort of duping Chanel products. I've always wanted to try the Rouge Coco Shine. I just don't want to spend anymore money. I spent a fortune for the Sephora sale.
ReplyDeleteThAnk you so much for the complete collection swatches! :) Revlon has not launched this in Singapore yet. But I'm getting 5 of these babies from eBay. Your swatches definitely help with my selection!
ReplyDeleteAhCapp
Oooh I hope we get those soon over here, or I might have to (yes, "have to") raid Evil Bay for them. Thanks for the swatches Mary :)
ReplyDeleteWooHoo! Thanks for the swatches. It's so hard to tell the color from the color cap.
ReplyDeleteThese are some of the best swatches I have seen so far. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this! I need to take my butt to a Walgreens to see if we have these in stock yet!
ReplyDeleteI hate when I pay and forget about those coupons or register rewards. I need to go in there armed with coupons. lol It seems harder to find Revlon coupons that aren't just for Target, so thanks for the heads up. I haven't found a shade in this line that I don't like. I have eight shades and I keep alternating them every day. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you got them all! Thank you for this review, very thorough!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting swatches!! I know I'm getting Lollipop & Red Velvet, I'll see what other colors strike me when I get there :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review & swatches. Wow! Wide range of colours to choose from! Hopefully we can get these in Asia too =)
ReplyDeleteThe packaging without the cap looks like Dior Addict to me
I bookmarked this page and have come back to it several times. Very informative and I went and got 2 of them the other day. I got the berry smoothie and the sugar plum. Pretty strong color for a lip balm but not too strong and nice and sheer with not a lot of shine. I'm getting more!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the master list!
ReplyDeleteHey just to let you guys know, they just released them in Canada! I found them at my Real Canadian Superstore. Hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteI love these so much! I picked up Berry Smoothie and it is perfect. I hope these are not limited addition. Great new Product!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have Fig Jam and the shade is like Clinique's Black Honey "almost lipstick" but more pigmented and with better staying power!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for these swatches!
ReplyDeleteI am about to purchase my first lipstick ever, and I'm interested in an affordable dupe for MAC's Sweetie, a medium pink with a hint of purple.
Which would you say is my best bet? I thought that Berry Smoothie would be the closest, but after seeing your swatches, Lollipop or Raspberry Pie might be a better match.
Could anyone help out a makeup newbie here?
Please and thank you!
(We don't have these in my country yet, so I'd probably be ordering off evil-bay.)
BooBoo Ninja~I would say that your best bet is to go with Lollipop if you like MAC Sweetie. I think Raspberry Pie might be a bit brighter, and Lollipop is also closer to Sweetie than Berry Smoothie would be. I do like Berry Smoothie a lot though...reach for it quite often :)
ReplyDelete@ Mary - thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis would be my first lipstick purchase of my life!
I tried Sweetie at the mall today and fell in lust. :)
I'm a bit nervous that Lollipop might be too bright for me, but I suppose I can dab it on lightly. Eventually I'll get used to seeing myself with lipstick on and will graduate to using it at full strength.
I appreciate your help :)
The swatches are VERY helpful, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHey Mary! Thanks so much for these swatches! Is there anyway you can denote which ones are cremes and which have shimmer?
ReplyDeletetx so much for the swatch. love it
ReplyDeleteAnyone who is still having trouble finding these (like I was.. every display I'd find has been ravaged and only already swatched ones are left haha) Ulta.com and drugstore.com both have them, they are buy one get one 1/2 off at Ulta.com right now!! They were soo worth the hunt-down my Chanel "boy" has been unloved since I got these!
ReplyDeleteNow THAT is a collection!
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting this together! It's great :) I own four of these little suckers now and love 'em! Your photo samples helped me pick the shades to buy.
ReplyDeleteGosh, these are so pretty! I'm in love. <3 :D
ReplyDeletePlease check out my blog!

what about macaroon?
ReplyDeleteoh ignore that macaroon comment i just found out it might be UK only??
ReplyDeletethanks again (from all of us) for the color swatches...they were a BIG help...I am attempting to choose a couple of shades for my daughter for her birthday...she wants a rosey pink...do you know which one fits that description?
ReplyDeleteLois of Texas~I would say Lollipop and Sweet Tart would be rosy pink shades. THey're sheer but do build up nicely, never getting "too" bright. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteSeeing the swatches makes me want to try: Pink Truffle,Lollipop, Fig Jam, & Red Velvet. I didn't get them, because I thought they might be too dark, but now I think these might actually complement my skin tone.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll send some to my cousin who lives in Australia (since make is pretty expensive there).
