L'Oreal, What Is This Nail Polish?

I was flipping through the August issue of
Allure Magazine, and admiring the beauty of Freida Pinto in
L'Oreal's ad for their
The One Sweep Eye Shadow...but I was quickly entranced with her nail polish! What
is that? It looks like a deep chocolate, or maybe even black with gold glitter.
Does anyone know if this is a
L'Oreal polish shade? Maybe it's layered with a gold glitter? I don't know what it is, but I need it!
ohmygosh I have been wondering what this polish is for months!!!! I can't figure it out nor do I have any ideas... I do think it's a polish layered over a black though....
ReplyDeleteHmm could it be a gold base with a black design? Maybe a cheetah print?
ReplyDeleteL'Oreal on twitter is REALLY good at responding, you should send them the photo and ask!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you could replicate it by sponging gold over a black base. Reminds me of something I've seen on Layniefingers, though you'd need a sponge with smaller holes:

My two cents anyway :)

Isn't it a gold polish with black crackle polish?
ReplyDeleteEven i seconf Freaky Freestyle Nails...It looks like gold color with black crackle coat on top........ Or viceversa..!!........:D
ReplyDeleteBut love it anyways..!! :) :) Do let us know if you get an apt answer..!! :)
"ohmygosh I have been wondering what this polish is for months!!!! I can't figure it out nor do I have any ideas" ditto :D
ReplyDeleteI've been asking myself the same question because I love it!!
ReplyDeletethis is gorgeous but i havent got a clue what it is! if you find out be sure to let us know :)
ReplyDeleteshel xx
L'Oreal Divinity (Old school gold holo top coat) over L'Oreal Resist & Shine Titanium Black Brown, maybe?
ReplyDeleteShe looks gorgeous! That polish is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteJust ask L'Oreal on Facebook, I'm sure they could help ;)
ReplyDeleteSo, did you find out? :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Mary. Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI can't get a close enough view of this ad to suggest I have a dupe, but when I saw it I immediately thought of how to get that look with polishes in my own collection: Essie Little Brown Dress with Nubar 2010 topcoat. The Essie is cooler than this base color, but I think the orange-y tones in the Nubar would warm it up similar to this hue without looking too red.
I tweeted loreal and they said it was their "stroke of midnight" with a gold glitter polish on top. ;)
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you for the info, Anon.! I was secretly hoping it was some fabulous new color they'd be releasing, but I guess that's easy enough to dupe :)
