Crack (for the hair this time, not nails!) is a multi-tasking leave-in hair styling product that is designed to instantly smooth, mend, nourish and add shine to your hair. It reportedly eliminates 95% of frizz, and is also a thermal, UV and chlorine protectant.
My hair is extremely fine, and at this point, it is also not in the best of shape because I haven't had it trimmed since December. I blow dry it every day and use a flat iron, so when I started using this product a couple of weeks ago, it was up against some challenging hair! Crack contains silk and wheat proteins, which my hair loves. CHI Silk Infusion and Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave-In Conditioner are two products I use daily on my hair, so I had a feeling this would work well for me, especially with my hair being as damaged as it is right now.
Does it live up to all of its promises? All in all, yes. It really isn't possible to mend a split end, but there are some products, including Crack, that do a very good job of disguising them by smoothing them down to the point where they're not nearly as noticeable. My hair looks much smoother and shinier after using this product, and it claims to reduce hair breakage by more than 80%. My ends looks healthier, and because this is also a moisturizing product, the overall dry/damaged look to my hair is now minimal.
Another nice point worth mentioning about Crack is that it significantly reduces the effects of humidity. My hair is naturally curly but I straighten it daily. With all of the rain and humidity we've had, I was pleasantly surprised by how straight my hair still is at the end of the day. My hair is truly a pain for me to manage, and there's nothing more frustrating than spending time getting it to look just right, only to step outside and have it ruined by humidity within minutes.
I use the tiniest amount of this on my ends, and it's the last product I apply before blow drying. I made the mistake of using too much the first time I tried it, and that left my hair with a greasy, stringy appearance. So a little product goes a long way! Once I figured out how much to use, I've been very happy with the results. If you'd like to see a short YouTube video on how this product works, you can click here.
I was sent a full-sized tube (2.5 oz., retail $19.95) and quite a few sample packets, so I've been using the sample packets and will be giving away one full-sized tube. My hair type requires such a small amount of product, that these packets will last me for quite some time. I do believe that someone with thicker, courser hair would see even more benefits from this type of product than did. If you'd like to enter, just leave your eMail in the comments below.
