Sinful Unicorn: A perfect yellow, but...
Happy Mother's Day to everyone!
Sinful's Unicorn is a perfect shade of yellow--a touch darker than butter, a hint lighter than lemon. At only $1.99 a bottle and a shade of yellow that actually works for me, I should be happy, right? It's a trickster though, because the formula seems to be a good consistency, it flows well, but...4 coats? It is lovely, but a bit impractical because of the time it takes to apply all of those coats and then the time to let it dry.

Unicorn isn't really sheer, but it's very streaky and
uneven, so additional coats are needed to obtain uniform coverage. Now that Revlon has purchased Sinful Colors, maybe the formula on some of their creme shades will see some improvement. Not that Revlon pastel cremes are much better in a lot of cases though!
I don't like Sinful polishes. I bought 3 around Halloween last year and the wear was just crap... though the colors were pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty yellow and looks awesome with the CG gray crackle, but it stains. My nails where all yellowish after I removed it. :(
ReplyDeleteThat does look so pretty on you. I like this shade of yellow. It's really a nice yellow. Have a very Happy Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteHA! Unicorn, doesn't remind me of a unicorn at all. Though, I do really like the colour, reminds me of summery breakfast in the mornings. SO warm and buttery
ReplyDeleteStained my nails really bad too, drat!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a fantastic weekend honey! Have you heard the good news about my first novel? It's available here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004YTMGA0
Enjoy your Sunday doll! Kori xoxo

That sucks. I still might just get it anyway cause its pretty. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think that's a common problem with pastel yellows, no?
ReplyDeleteYup it's a stainer alright. First time in a long time I forgot a base coat. Well maybe I didn't forget, I was just being lazy. I learned my lesson!
ReplyDeleteOh, I just bought this color and haven't yet worn it. Hmmm, I wonder if I should just return it or if putting a white coat on first will stop it from staining. Thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteLove this shade
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!! This yellow is AMAZING on your hands! I say keep it! It's worth the 4 coats, your nails look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSorry this was a butt to apply/let dry, but the results are very pretty; one of the loveliest yellows I've seen to date, in fact (and that's a lotta yellas THIS season :D)!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy (Belated) Mother's Day, Gorgeous Mary! <3
