I have been captivated and intrigued by StrangeBeautiful polishes for a couple of years now, and read a little piece in the March issue of Allure Magazine that may just push me over the edge to finally add this brand to my collection. According to Melissa Green, who is a beauty buyer at Anthropologie, "StrangeBeautiful has a new way to wear scent: a nail polish that has a gorgeous violet fragrance with leather undertones that lasts for about a day. It gives off a gentle aroma, especially if you talk with your hands." Leather undertones? Now that sounds interesting to me!
Google doesn't provide me with any additional information about this polish, but I'm guessing that because the source is a buyer for Anthropologie, this may be one of the exclusives that are offered at their stores, rather than something in the StrangeBeautiful "volumes" of color. This mention I read about in Allure was in an article called Trends: The Next Big Things, so I'm not even sure if this has been released yet.
Reading about StrangeBeautiful recently has brought them to mind again...for some reason, I guess because I don't hear too much about the brand, I keep forgetting about them altogether. I've heard good things about their formula, and I think Jane Schub, the creator behind the line, has a very unique perspective on color and what inspires her to create the various shades. I always enjoy reading the detailed description of each Library of Color.
The price of the volumes runs $79.00 each, which when broken down, is less than $10.00 a bottle. A little on the high side, but there are plenty of other brands out there that get more than that from me for one bottle. I don't have access to an Anthropologie store, and I don't see those exclusives on line.
Do any of you have StrangeBeautiful polishes? What are your thoughts about them? I think the reason I've resisted is simply because of the total "volume/book" price, but logically (is there anything logical about this obsession of ours?!!), less than $10.00 each isn't that outrageous at all.
