Reviva Labs Organic Skin Tonic

Recently, I started using Reviva Labs Organic Skin Tonic as a toner and a facial skin refresher every couple of days. Having given up toners a year or two ago because they seemed to tighten and dry my skin--alcohol in the ingredients was the likely culprit, I still like the idea of a toner to give additional balance to the natural acids in my skin.

I apply this with a cotton ball after cleansing my face with Reviva Labs Organic Cleansing Milk. What I find interesting, is that since switching from a foaming facial cleanser with exfoliating beads to the Reviva Cleansing Milk, the cotton ball with the Organic Skin Tonic shows no discoloration/dirt residue. With other cleansers, there was always a trace of residue still on the cotton ball. This toner leaves my skin baby soft. Because it comes in a spray bottle, I can also use it as a skin refresher later in the day. I use a couple of spritzes directly on my face, and it leaves my skin refreshed and dewy, without disrupting my make up. This will be especially useful in the hot, humid summer months ahead.

Below: The ingredients are listed clearly on the back of the bottle. The scent is primarily a light lavender one with a hint of herbal fragrance mixed in.

Below: I always appreciate a company that does not test on animals and makes that known. With organic products, the expiration date should be taken into account so that the ingredients remain stable. I've used plenty of organic products that don't list an expiration date, and they begin to smell "off", causing me to dispose of them. I always be sure to check for an expiration date on organic products to ensure their freshness.

Reviva Labs has become my primary skin care source, and while I keep thinking I'll come across one of their products that just doesn't work for me, it hasn't happened yet. I have 4-5 Reviva Labs products that I use daily, and a number of additional products of theirs that I use in rotation, depending on my skin's needs. The Organic Skin Tonic is in my rotation of products, because I feel that the Cleansing Milk does such a great job at giving my face a thorough cleansing, that I don't feel the need to utilize it as an additional step in the cleansing process. On days when I haven't had enough sleep and my skin is looking a little tired too, the toner not only feels refreshing, but it seems to enhance and awaken my skin. The scent is soothing and relaxing to me, as most lavender scents are.

You can find this line at, and at many natural health stores such as Whole Foods. The Organic Skin Tonic retails for $9.50, and comes in a 4 oz. spray bottle.
