Del Sol Holly Berry Color-Changing Polish

Del Sol came out with three holiday polishes for 2010 (view original post here), and I have Holly Berry to show you today. This slightly translucent (2 coats) and jelly-like finish cherry red shade is filled with red foil glitter, and changes into a deep purple hue when exposed to sunlight.

Below: After less than a minute in the sun, this shade morphs into a dark purple shimmer with red and gold glitter.

I've always had fun with the color-changing polishes from Del Sol, and the holiday bottles are decked out with holly berries and snow flakes, adding to their seasonal charm. I don't see these particular shades available on their web site any more, but they may still be available at Walgreens. If you'd like to add some Del Sol polishes to your collection, I do see a 3 pack of various shades in holiday packaging on their site here for just $5.00. They're normally priced at $10.00 each, and they are currently (and usually) offering a buy 3 get one free deal. Trick or Treat, their Halloween offering, is also on their clearance page here for $5.00.

  1. I've got this one, too. It's really nice with white flowers and green leaves painted over some of it. Just makes it more fun.

  2. I have a few del sol polishes but they don't change color as much as this one does. I like both colors and I think it's so fun that the color changes :D

  3. I have 2 of their polishes. I haven't tried it yet but I am loving this one!

  4. I've never heard of such a thing! Now if they have a light pink shade that turns to black in the sun- that would be AMAZING!

  5. Like the shade it changes to. I don't own any of these.

  6. this one is just so pretty! i'm glad the holiday set is on sale, but do you know if they are 3 mini bottles or regular? i'm betting minis, but the description says large .5 bottles. hmmm...

  7. DesertNails8~I really like their bottles anyway, very heavy and substantial. The added graphics make me like them even more :)

    liquoredonlacquer~glad you like this shade!

anniescolors~you know, I've hear a few people mention that, but I've always been very impressed by just how dramatic the color change is on these. I wonder if there was a formula change or anything like that.

kittypolishnbags~they're pretty fun to play around with! I just need more sun lately :)

Antoszewskia~isn't it though?!! Glad you like it.

Brooke~that would be very nice! I don't think they have any that change to black, although I could be wrong :)

Lucy~they're nice polishes, fun and a good formula.

Sarah~I sure think they're full-sized by the way it reads. I wondered that myself, but after re-reading the description a couple of times, I'm going to guess that they're full-sized. I just wanted to mention, those shades are not the "holiday shades", but the shades shown in a holiday package. Maybe you knew that though :)
