Below: Cult Nails is working hard to become a green company, and their packaging is recyclable. They cushion their products with cotton balls--environmentally friendly, and very useful! The polish itself is B3-Free, a well as being free of Phthalate and Camphor.
Below: My polish was accompanied by a nice welcoming note with Maria's cute trademark logo.
Below: I asked Maria to autograph my bottle because when (not if, but when) she becomes a world-famous polish creator, I can say that I knew her before fame and fortune came her way!
Below: My Kind of Cool Aid is a greyed-out lavender shade with hidden or secret shimmer. I notice primarily a pale aqua/green shimmer, and there is also a very light sprinkling of pink shimmer. Cult Nails describes this shade as a purple/gray creme polish with a delicate shimmer. The photos below show what this shade looks like in brighter lighting (Ott lamp on the first two and flash on the last one), and as you can see, it leans more toward the lavender side.
Below: In lower lighting with no flash, this shade leans more toward the grey spectrum. As I was wearing it around the house in various lighting, it changes its appearance depending on the lighting.
I am so happy with this shade--is it grey? Lavender? It's Gravender! Whatever you call it, it's stunning and unique. The formula was extremely nice because it's a touch on the thick side which allows for opaque coverage in 2 coats, but not so thick that in causes any problems during the application or drying time. It's a self-leveling formula and before I can even touch up an area, it's already leveled itself out for a smooth and even finish.
Maria will be introducing more colors, and if you take a look at her web site here, you can read more about her company and her future plans. The next polish to make its debut is likely one called Living Water, which you can view here. That shade, if I recall correctly, was inspired by one of her readers when Maria put the call out to help her design a shade. I'll be checking her site frequently to see when that one is available, because it too is gorgeous.
I think I speak for many other bloggers and readers of Maria's blog when I say Congratulations, Maria! I know you to be a perfectionist, so I had no doubt that you would see this through and end up with a top quality product. You and your family have poured your hearts and souls into making this company come to life, and I wish you much success and happiness!
