The Nail Files Reality Show Launches Nubar Line Partnership
A month or so ago I made mention of a new reality series that will be premiering on the TV Guide network called
The Nail Files, and I have a little more information on that. The show is centered around Katie
Cazorla, who is the owner of The Painted Nail Salon in Sherman Oaks, California. It's scheduled to air in mid-2011 and the salon has recently partnered with
Nubar and launched a product line that includes 18 nail polish shades, along with additional nail treatments and body care products.

Oddly, I only have but a handful of
Nubar shades in my collection, so I can't tell you if any of The Painted Lady shades are dupes. Maybe some of you who are more familiar with their polishes can take a closer look at the polishes
here and give us your opinion. The polishes retail for $12.50 and some of them look very pretty, so I *need* to know if there are possible dupes before I get sucked in and order a couple of them! I seldom watch TV, but I do think I'll check this show out!
Sounds like a fun show concept!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to your swatches :)
ReplyDeleteI have some Nubars but not any of the shades that's really close to these. I would be upset if they just "renamed" some shades for this show without telling us cause that would cause some of us to get dupes definitely. :(
ReplyDeleteI knew about this a long time ago--Hayley Williams of Paramore named four of the polishes (her mom is apparently friends with the salon owner?), and posted photos of those on her tumblr. I had shortly thereafter been occasionally checking the 'net to see if any polish blogs had news or swatches, but no luck. : (
ReplyDeleteI don't know about dupes, and trust me, I've tried to find out myself.
I don't think they're renamed Nubars, though. From what I understand, The Painted Nail and Nubar teamed up on the colors, and celebrities were asked to choose colors they liked and name them. At least, that certainly is what I hope happened...
The colors are gorgeous!! You can buy them at Fred Segal on Melrose! I bought them from there and have alot of Nubar colors too. The brushes, bottles, caps, boxes and colors are all different, it seems like it's more department store and less beauty supply then the normal Nubar polish, but I love them both! Super sparkely and they last long! Plus no testing on animals and it's a green line.
ReplyDeleteWhat's a dupe?
ReplyDeleteThese certainly do look gorgeous. I love Nubar's polishes. Guess we'll all have to wait till someone gets them and swatches them.
ReplyDeleteSome of them look like possible dupes, but I can't tell 100% from the pics. I'll have to drop by the salon to take a peek!
ReplyDeleteHi guys, just saw this blog :) How exciting!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know that the colors were specifically chosen to mimic our Top Nubar color choices that our customers love to choose when they are in The Painted Nail, especially the layering combinations! From this initial collection to the new Spring 2011 collection (which is so FUN and gorgeous!) I chose each color and combination and had some of our celeb clients name their favorite combos. Everything about the collections is different but still stays true to what Nubar represents as a brand! I can't wait for you guys to get a sneak peek of the
show and new line! BTW this is a very cool blog and I am posting the link on my facebook :) thanks so much for writing about TPN and let me know where to send you swatches of BOTH collections!!
I got my nails done at The Painted Nail and I LOVED it
