Barielle Shades Style In Argyle Fall 2010

Today I've got 3 of the 6 shades to show you from Barielle's Fall 2010 Collection, Style in Argyle. The names and shades are very fitting for Fall, but I wish there was a little more variety in the color and finishes offered in this collection.

Below: Aura Angora is a shade described as a royal gold creme, which is an accurate description. This imitation gold color isn't something you see every day, and to be honest I wasn't quite sure about it based on the bottle. The longer I had it on though, the more I grew to like it.

Below: Unraveled Rust is a burnt rust creme, or a rich russet brown. It has a hint of red in it, but does tend to look a little more like a chocolate brown in lower lighting.

Below: Wool You Marry Me? is described as a plum brown creme. This somewhat cranberry shade is a color that also works nice for Fall, but I'm sure I have several others that are very similar. I had hoped based on the bottle appearance that this would be a somewhat dusty or muted shade, but it applies quite a bit darker than it looks bottle-wise.

I'm still wearing Aura Angora and in my opinion, that's the truly unique one in this collection. The others are all fairly mainstream Fall colors that while nice, seem to lack that little something extra that would make them stand out as a "must have". I like the textural fabric names, I like the formula (typical Barielle, thicker than others but they always work well in 2 coats), I like the colors--I just don't love them.

Barielle Shades retail for $6.00 and are available at Barielle.com and Ulta stores.

  11. After seeing this a yr later (new to blogs as of Jan this yr), I finally know now that I do like Aura Angora and would wear it. The color chips are so hard to read on most sites, esp on the Barielle site. Descriptions they have help only so far. I have a # of shades like that in the ballpark of OPI and Apple Pie, Ginger bells and another OPI shade I need to go digging for as it's now in season that I like to wear it are similar, but this one here is a nice bridge from summer brights to the darker moods of fall shades.
