China Glaze Halloween 2010: Ick-A-Bod-Y

Even though it's only July, it's never too soon to look ahead to Halloween! China Glaze has once again come out with some frighteningly boo-tiful shades for us. Ick-A-Bod-Y is an orange glitter with a deep grey-green base. The glitter is bright and foil-like and this shade covered well using 2 coats. The finish was surprisingly smooth and the formula is consistent with their Glitters from last Fall, being a little jelly-like in texture.

Above & Below: The top photo is shown using an Ott lamp, while the bottom photo was taken with a flash. The glitter in this shade is uniformly shaped, relatively small, and extremely plentiful. I had a few bald spots after the first coat, but all was remedied with a second coat.

Above & Below: A side-by-side with 2 China Glaze Halloween shades from last you will give you a better idea of how Ick-A-Bod-Y compares. Do you need Ick-A-Bod-Y? I guess that depends on you, but they are vastly different.
The Awakening Collection of which Ick-A-Body-Y is a part of, will be available in a 4-piece boxed set that also includes 2 other shades, Zombie Zest and Mummy May I. It also contains a bottle of their Fast Forward top coat. I'll take this opportunity to remind you that if you check out the monthly VNS code in the upper right corner of my blog, you can get a free bottle of Fast Forward with any order this month. I'm getting confused with all of these new collections coming at us, but I believe these shades will also be available for individual purchase. I'll get the other two shades posted tomorrow. I love Halloween, so I'm thrilled at what China Glaze did with this collection. Are you looking forward to these shades and Halloween?

  1. It's SO cool! I love the look of it. I can't wait to get mine and to me, of course, it's never too soon for Halloween so I love your little Halloween images too! CUTE!

  2. It's never, ever too soon for Halloween! I like this one! The gray base is a nice change from the typical black ones we see. But all three of those polishes are fabulous!

  3. Yes I do think I need ick-a-bod-y!

  4. Yep, I will be getting this!

  5. My school colors were orange and black. As a cheerleader, the Black Magic would have been great. I'll make up for it and get it when it comes out.

  6. Im so excited for this one Mary! Yay!

  7. I'm going to need all 3 of their Halloween glitters =)

  8. I guess that Ickabod-y looks pretty good. I think the description of the color kind of grosses me out,but oh well...lol...maybe it's supposed to! :-)

  9. Love this one. I didn't get Fortune Teller so I'm glad to see this. I love the colors in this polish.

  10. Nicole~I know you're the Queen of Halloween, so these are perfect for you!

Aurora's Nails~I really couldn't quite determine the base color, but it works well, whatever it is. And I agree, this is one of the most perfect Halloween sets I've seen.

Freshie~it's kind of an odd name, but an awesome polish :)

Zara~I think they'll be very popular. It seems a lot of Halloween sets have a glow in the dark, but those never really work that great. I'd rather have a set like this. All great shades.

Kimberly~that's as good of a reason as any! It's a great black and orange.

Jessica~I really like these. The formula is great and as far as all of that glitter, they're really not too difficult to remove at all.

Colette~I think that's a wise decision on your part! Love your nails, so I can't wait to see them.

Starlight~strange name, great polish! Just hope no one asks you what the name is when you're wearing it :)

Lucy~different than FT, but the same orange/black concept, so you'll enjoy it.
