Orly's In The Navy Collection Featuring Royal Navy
Accessorize Summer's "It" look with Orly's In The Navy Collection.
Introducing a Lacquer Collection That Complements the Latest Nautical Trends.

Below: I saw an ad last week for this collection and since I already had the 2 re-promotes, I knew I needed to get my hands on Royal Navy because it looked beautiful! I was not disappointed by this one in the slightest.

Above & Below: The photos above were taken outside under partly cloudy skies, white the photo below was taken indoors with an Ott lamp. I used 2 coats and the formula was perfect. In fact, I was amazed!
Below: My photos do not do this shade justice. As you can see in the bottle, this is a dark (darker than what my photos show) bright royal blue shade bordering on a lighter shade of navy. Look at that glitter! It's dark aqua and works perfectly against the royal navy base color. This polish is described by Orly as "Sparkly royal navy blue reminiscent of sparkling waters."
Below: Star Spangled is certainly a lovely shade, so I wanted to show that one to you in case you aren't already familiar with it. This one also covers nicely in 2 coats and is a red shade with glitter, much like China Glaze Ruby Pumps.
If you haven't picked up Royal Navy, I would suggest running, not walking, to Sally Beauty and adding this one to your collection. This royal navy creme with aqua micro glitter is absolutely stunning. While the other 2 shades serve their purposes--White Tips is one of my favorite whites to Konad with, and Star Spangled, while very similar to China Glaze Ruby Pumps and BB Couture Fairy Blood is a red glitter in a red creme, which you can never have too many of--Royal Navy is in a league all by itself. After the first stroke on my nail, I knew I'd love it. The formula is fantastic, seeming to know exactly where to go on the nail, covering well with no streaking, and finishing up with a look like no other. What do you think of this shade? Do you have anything similar to this in your collection?

Your review of Royal Navy is spot on. The color is fabulous. I can't stop staring at my hands since I put this color on. It is the blue I will be using in my Memorial Day Red, White, and Blue mani.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I want to get my hands on that collection, I would totally paint my nails in red and blue alternately then konad a pattern on in white. That blue is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteRoyal Navy looks gorgeous on you. Wow what a beautiful shade of blue. I definitely have to have that one. The other two I can skip.

ReplyDeleteLove the blue one!
ReplyDeleteOoh love the name of this collection! And I love the red one!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, I can see why you needed Royal Navy!
ReplyDeleteHi, I have a question but it isn't really post related. I just wondered if there is a specific nail varnish range/brand that works well on weak nails that spilt. I'd like to grow my nails but I hate not wearing varnish but that just seems to make it even more impossible! Kat x
ReplyDeleteAshley~isn't it gorgeous! I agree, the perfect shades fr the upcoming Holiday and the 4th of July :)
ReplyDeletePolish Earthgirl~and that was partly cloudy skies! It's got to be even better in full sun.
Twister~it looked pretty in the ad, but in real life--wow! I'm happy to add it to my collection.
Audrey~I wanted it to complete the collection, but it is definitely one to have even just by itself.
SiameseFlame~I adore this shade, I can't say enough about how beautiful it is in real life. So glad you agree!
Chrissy~this set would make for some great Konad designs! I'll have to have a look at my plates and see what I can come up with.
Lucy~I believe everyone needs Royal Navy! Seriously though, it's just beautiful.
Jackie S.~I can't imagine anyone not liking it! Wasn't the formula incredible?
you nailed it!~mine too! Ha-Ha!
Dollface~I don't know how long it'll last at Sally, I doubt the display holds more than a few. Hopefully they'll add this to their core line.
Maestra~join the crowd! Everyone seems to love it, and with good reason :)
Marie~it's a cute little collection. The red is pretty, but the blue is unlike anything else I have, so I think it's special!
SilhouetteScreams~it's just perfect and you need it too :)
Katrina~I don't know of any specific colored polish range that is designed for weak nails. However, Barielle make one that only comes in a pale pink called Protect Plus and is made just for weak nails. It can also be used as a base coat. Another product they make which is wonderful for weak nails, is Nail Rebuilding Protein and can be used as a base coat. Their products work extremely well on weak nails.
This formula was PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteStunning shade of blue I love its glittering...
ReplyDeleteBoth are pretty but the navy blue is absolutely gorgeous.
