Essie 2010 Wedding Color Collection: Part II

Here are the last 3 shades in Essie's recently released Wedding Color Collection. You can view Part I here. I'll apologize ahead of time for the less than stellar swatches--the bottle neck was broken on Petal Pink and I decided after swatching this one to dispose of it, because there are small glass shards in the polish. So I was unable to get an even application due to my fear of the glass pieces! All photos are shown using 2 coats.

Above: Pillow Talk is a milky off white, reminding me in color of a jar of paste. Not that that's a bad thing, but it did remind me of that. The formula was good and even though there isn't much color to this one, it's a nice shade for a clean, polished look.
Above: BBF Best Boyfriend is another pale creme, although it has a noticeable tint of pink. I think this one, paired with Pillow Talk for the tips would make a nice, subtle French look.
Below: Petal Pink is a perfect baby pink creme, and I was disappointed that I won't be able to keep this one because of the glass issue.
All in all, I do like this collection for what they are--sheer neutral shades. As far as wedding shades, to each his own, but I would prefer something a little more noticeable for my wedding polish choice. I don't recall what I wore on my wedding day exactly, but in looking at the photographs from oh so long ago, it was much darker than these, and we were married in April. The formula on the last three I swatched, was not as streaky as I found some of the polishes I swatched in Part I to be. Pillow Talk was a surprise to me, because I didn't think I'd care for it, but I actually like it quite a bit! I would describe it as a pale peach with a hint of beige in looking at the bottle, but once applied it's more of an off white color, with extreme subtleness.

  5. Petal Pink is gorgeous. Too bad the bottle broke! Don't go hurting yourself with shards D:

  6. Not really shades I like. They do give the nails a clean look. Please don't paint your nails with glass shards in the polish. I know you do your very best for us but that's way to much.

  7. Hmm, not generally a fan of these shades, but I can see how they'd be perfect for a bride on her wedding day :) knowing me I'll probably get married with hooker blue nails LOL

  8. I think the very first one is almost a dupe to Nails Inc. Sloane Mews. (I swatched it on my blog, and the photos look very similar...)

  9. Pillow talk from your picture looks very similar to essie allure at 1 generous coat I think. I've bought BBF, show me the ring and also Walk down the aisle from Essie wedding. Nice subdued colors. Thanks for swatching.

  10. Petal Pink is very sheer/transparent. It's "Pretty" at even just one coat but will take many coats to achieve the color in the bottle.
