Nicole's: Turn Out The Lights, Drama In The Dark, Black To The Future

Today I have a couple of my untried's from the Nicole by OPI line, which I purchased at TJ Maxx several months ago for $3.99 each. All of these are either black or off-black based glitters, and although they're rather dark, the glitter still sparkles through the background quite nicely. I used 2 coats on all of these and had no problem with the formula. All in all, I like Nicole's polishes but I don't like the bottle shape at all. It's a non-conformist and is difficult to hold for photographing. It takes up more space than it should on my shelf due to the shape, but most of the shades are nice enough to overlook that issue. I've always been drawn to black-based shades with tiny glitter, so I was happy to pick these up at a great price.
I just got about 5 bottles in this dark base group. Great to see your swatches to confirm they are good buys :-)
ReplyDeleteThese really remind me of Milani's Halloween collection except for the first one. I really love that one.
ReplyDeleteOoo, lovely!
ReplyDeletegorgeous night sky colour :)
ReplyDeleteWow, these are all awesome - honestly, I can't choose a favorite. I love TJMaxx for Nicole polishes - everytime I go I scour the little makeup/beauty section for them :)
ReplyDeleteI think if I could find Nicoles at that price, I might would purchase more of them! But I'm totally with you on the bottle shape, I HATE that.
ReplyDeleteHowever, these colors are awesome - I love colors like this. I picked up a set of Icing minis that were black-based with different glitter colors, I haven't swatched them yet but they're pretty in the bottles!
Oh man, I love blackened shades SO MUCH. *drools*
ReplyDeleteI like those shades! I never go to TJMaxx so I'll have to look elsewhere to find them. Or I should make my own. Love the deep green with glitter.
ReplyDeleteHalifax~I'd seen these before but didn't want to pay full price! They are really pretty and I'm glad I found them.
ReplyDeleteNessa~I still have the Milani ones to swatch, but yes, from pictures I've seen, they are similar.
gildedangel~thanks! They're all pretty, I don't think I have a favorite, because I love them all.
Angie~that's a good description :)
Brooke~my TJ Maxx doesn't usually have too much in the nail dept., so I grabbed these up right away!
Nicole~I don't think I've ever even seen Icings in real life, but they always look pretty in photos. I love the black with the glitters...a lot!
SilhouetteScreams~I do too, one of my favorites, probably right after duo chromes!
Lucy~it would be interesting to try to make your own. I wonder if they'd look like this? Guess it depends on if you could find the right type of glitter to use.
