Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: The Real Teal

Above & Below: The Real Teal shown with Ott lighting above and with a flash below. This applied like a dream and it's a beautiful shade somewhere between teal and turquoise. Click on the photos to see how pretty the subtle shimmer is.
Below: This photo was taken outdoors under heavy cloud cover with no flash.
I don't know if this is the real teal, but it certainly is perfection in every area. The Real Teal leans more toward turquoise than teal, but I wouldn't describe it as a flat out turquoise. This is a shimmer, and the shimmer shows green in some lighting and more aqua in other lighting. The Xtreme Wear polishes are probably my favorite from the lines Sally Hansen offers. They have the flat, rectangular stem and the brush is cut straight and is fairly flat, unlike the tapered ones in the Insta-Dri line. Both the Insta-Dri line and the Complete Salon Manicure line have less than perfect function when it comes to the combination of the wide stem and narrow bottle opening. This is not the case with the Xtreme line, which seems to have a better design all the way around, including the formula. I used 2 coats, although 1 coat was probably enough. The formula is the perfect consistency and seems to know just where to flow. The coverage was even, smooth, and dried quickly. Although this is one of their less expensive lines, I think it's probably their best line.

  1. Wow, I'm just polishing my nails with this :-) It is a real beauty, I only hope the shimmer would more visible. I think this will be my favourite pedi colour next summer.

  2. Loving the colour, it's always nice when a good nail polish is not super expensive :)

  3. I have several from this line, and I agree, the brush is very nice. My complaint is dry time! They never dry nice and hard, always easily dentable. :`(

  4. Everytime I run in the drugstore I always look at this color and ponder over getting it, needless to say, I always end up putting it time I'm definitely going to get it though!! It's such a gorgeous shade and I love the soft shimmer to it. Thanks for the swatches!!

  5. That's a really beautiful teal there!

  6. This is SUCH a gorgeous shade :) love the punny name too

  7. I'm so glad I have this. I checked in my book and there it was! Looks gorgeous on you. This line is my favorite also.

  8. Amabile~it would make a nice pedi shade! I kind of like the subtleness of the shimmer though!

gildedangel~isn't it pretty? I love it.

Kalmo~glad you like it! The application was so nice.

    Loreena~thank you!

Beauty Vibes~agreed! And even nicer when it applies so well.

razberiswrl~that's interesting, I've not had a problem with drying time on this line...yet! I still have a few untried's to go though.

Alia Shardae~I'd definitely tell you to pick this one up. It's even better than I'd imagined :)

Garland~I just love the shimmer in it. Adds so much to the already nice shade.

SilhouetteScreams~the name is cute! I love this color.

Lucy~funny how their best one is the cheapest one!
