Essie Sweet Time of the Year Holiday Collection

Above & Below: Essie's Sweet Time of the Year debuts November 1 (available on Essie's site 10/15/09). The bottom 3 nails on the swatch card above show the polishes: Top nail is Mint Candy Apple, Middle is Rock Candy and Bottom is Lollipop. The mint candy apply behind the bottle in the promo picture looks quite tasty! Below are the colors from the print ad.
Essie is coming out with a small (3 shades) holiday collection November 1, and Yen from Victoria Nail Supply sent me some swatches in my last order. The shades will be available in full sized bottles as well as in a Mini 4-Pack which also includes a mini bottle of their 3-Way Glaze (base, strengthener and top coat). The 3 shades are Lollipop (a red creme), Rock Candy (a very pale pink creme) and Mint Candy Apple (a medium toned mint creme). Naturally, Mint Candy Apply caught my eye when I first saw an ad for this collection in Lucky magazine. I know you're wondering how it compares to the famed MAC Peppermint Patti, and unfortunately I don't own MAC's to be able to answer that question. It's definitely very close in color to OPI's Get in Lime, Peppermint Patti and Chanel's Jade. The other 2 shades are pretty as well, but I would imagine that most of us will be more drawn to Mint Candy Apple.

  1. I'm kind of excited about that green because I don't own MAC peppermint patty and its not available anymore right?

  2. I'm a big fan of that mint green as well. It looks YUMMY!

  3. Another fan of the mint green here. I like the quality of Essie a lot too.

  4. I agree, the mint one really looks gorgeous!

  5. Gorgeous mint color! Looking forward to buying it!

*Thank you for the happy birthday by the way!*

  6. Mint Candy Apple has definitely stolen my attention!!

You post up too many awesome colours.. My bank account is weeping happily!!

  7. Mint Candy Apple looks lovely! Thanks for sharing :)

  8. The green is very pretty but wouldn't look good on me.

  9. Definitely looking forward to Mint Candy Apple for sure! Oh and the pink! :D

  10. Why isn't someone coming out with a dupe to Peppermint Patti? Everything else you can find a dupe. Why now this?

  11. Oh yeah, I'm definitely drawn to the minty color! That's probably the only one I'll get.

  12. Adorepink~it's available...if you want to pay the ridiculously high price on e-bay for it! I didn't get PP either, so I'll get this one.

The Pretty Brown Girl~I have the promo pic up on my bulletin board and keep staring at it!

Celine~hello! Hope all is going well with you! It's very pretty and I can't wait to see it on my nails!

Nail Fanatic~me too! It'll be a nice, fun color when it's cold and gloomy outside.

Grace London~this is going to be a popular shade! I love Essie's formula also.

KonadoMania~everyone seems to love the mint! They're all pretty, but that one is really nice.

    Krisprimps~so much for our low-buy...ha-ha!

Ashley~you're very welcome for the wishes! It looks so smooth and pretty, I'm excited to get this one.

Delaynee~happy to cause you to spend more money on nail polish!

Pinkginger~I think this one may just sell out! Hope they make enough to go around :)

Nosaby~it probably won't look that great on me either when I have no tan in the dead of winter, but I'm still attracted to it.

Kae~the pink looks interesting, very pale, but I imagine it's still pretty.

Lucy~did you ever get PP? I'll be curious to see how close this is to that one.

Nicole~I think it's very pretty and of course it really stands out against the other 2.

  13. today is october 15th and it is nowhere to be seen on the essie website, how disappointing.

  14. Anonymous~I agree, disappointing. I guess all we can do is wait.
