Product Review: Body Drench Hemp Moisturizing Lotion

Good morning! Today I'll be reviewing Body Drench Daily Moisturizing Lotion with Hemp. I have used several Body Drench products over the years and I've been very satisfied with all of them. They make top quality products and are found primarily in the indoor tanning industry. American International Industries is the manufacturer of this product and I was surprised to learn that they also manufacture 31 other lines, including China Glaze, Seche, Ardell, IBD & EZFlow Acrylic Nail Systems. Their line of moisturizers are very nourishing, whether you tan or not. This is considered a 'natural' product, made with many natural ingredients, although it is not totally natural or organic. We've been talking about Natural & Organic Beauty all month and I will caution you to always read the labels if you're looking for something that is 100% Natural or Organic. My intent this month is to learn about different products that are geared more toward this topic, although they may not necessarily be entirely one or the other. I don't think I could ever 'Go Green' completely, but my own personal philosophy is that natural is better for many reasons, so I tend to be drawn to products that at least make the effort to utilize some variance of natural ingredients.

The bottle description states "Inspired by Body Drench Original Daily Moisturizing Lotion, number one choice of spas and salons, our Hemp lotion is specifically designed to provide dramatic skin hydration . This emollient rich formula leaves skin silky and smooth, with no greasy residue. Apply liberally after bath or tanning." In addition to the Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil (Hemp), this product also includes Glycerin, Jojoba Seed Oil, Cocoa Seed Butter and Rosemary Leaf Extract, among other ingredients. I have used their Original Daily Moisturizing Lotion and found it to be extremely hydrating and long lasting throughout the day. What I loved about the Hemp version, was the scent. It smells very light, clean and fresh, although it doesn't linger or interfere with your perfume. It applies nicely with quick absorption and absolutely no greasiness. The lotion itself is of a thicker consistency and it comes in a 16.9 oz. pump style bottle. If you click on the link above you can find many shops that carry this product online and it ranges in price (I picked mine up for about $10.00 online, although it is much more expensive in spas and salons locally). It does state on the bottle 'THC-Drug Free", so if you're looking for a Cheech and Chong moment, you'll have to look elsewhere! Industrial Hemp, the type of Hemp found in this product, has been given the “eco-friendly” label because of it's short growth cycle of 100-120 days (so it’s easily renewable) and the entire plant can be put to productive use in such items as food, building materials for home construction, fuel, beauty products and fabrics, to name a few.

Later today I'll announce the first of two winners in the August Contest. Each prize basket will contain a full sized bottle of the Body Drench Hemp Moisturizing Lotion, along with many other 'Natural & Organic' beauty products.

I've used Hemp lotion before, I got it from Trade Secret and it smelled delicious!

  4. Hahaha, Cheech and Chong moment! That was totally cute. I've used Body Drench before, and when you mentioned the online price, I almost fell out of my seat - it's SO much cheaper online than it is at any store I've ever seen. It's a great lotion though! I'm glad the hemp version is just as lovely.

  5. So was that why you first tried it out, for the Cheech and Chong moment?! That was really funny Mary. I love a nice thick and nourishing lotion. I will keep this company in mind when I run out of my stash. Couldn't resist that word!
