Above & Below: QRS Purple Passion outdoors, no flash. Below is the QRS Prime Top Coat used over the polish, because like many neons, it dries to a semi-matte finish.
Below: Pictures below were taken indoors, with a flash.
Below: A sign that winter is coming...this flock of Canadian Geese flew overhead while I was taking my pictures. They were heading straight south, which tells me taking pictures outdoors in pleasant weather is something that's not going to last much longer!
My Natural & Organic Beauty month is cutting into my polish posting! I'm going to be going through more of my QRS polishes today, which by the way, are Big 3 Free, so I'll tie it into the theme that way. The first polish post today is on QRS Purple Passion, which I believe is considered a neon polish. It dries to a semi-matte or eggshell finish, but more on that in a minute. Purple Passion is more of a fuchsia to me, and very bright and vivid. I'm not a big fan of neon applications, but this one may just change my mind on that. I first used a coat of Rock Hard base coat (from Sally Beauty), then I applied one fairly thin coat of Purple Passion. It wasn't as streaky as most neons I've used, but there were some extreme 'bald' spots. I let it dry for a few minutes and then touched up just the bald spots. After about 3 minutes, I then applied one more full coat and I had perfect coverage. I applied one coat of QRS Prime Top Coat and it, like the QRS polishes, dried extremely fast. The top coat gave it a very nice shine and an ultra smooth finish. This is the best neon application I've ever experienced, and I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.
Don't forget to use the $3.00 off any purchase coupon located above over in the right hand column if you're thinking about ordering from QRS. I have been more than impressed not only by their polishes, but also by their fantastic customer service and low shipping rates. They have a Fall collection that should be available within the next month and I soon as I find out any details about it, I'll let you know. The wonderful Jamie at QRS and I are going to be collaborating on a 6 piece 'Body & Soul' QRS collection, which I'm very excited about. It's still in the very early planning stages, so I don't know what it will involve...my favorite existing polishes in a set? If that's the case, Cresskill Eve would have to be included as my first choice. A new shade, perhaps? I have a shade in mind that I've longed to find in a polish and have yet to locate. So who knows, we'll have to wait and see what develops!
