Quirius by QRS Swatches in Roose Flambe

Roose Flambe is a medium carnation pink shade that I thought to be a shimmer when looking at the bottle, but it is actually a metallic finish. It was difficult for me to photograph without getting a reflection because it has a very foil-type finish. It applied well in 3 thin coats, and I felt a third coat was needed to get the lines evened out. I have had a bit of trouble with metallic finishes in the past because the brush seems to leave obvious patterns in the finish, but this one wasn't too bad. I seems to reflect a thin silver flash from various angles. It's a nice shade if you want a pop of color while still remaining a bit on the conservative side. The foil-like finish gives it an interesting and eye-catching twist. Coming up in the next post is a similar shade only in a creme, which looks to be a dusty or muted fuchsia called Strawberry Smoothie. That sounds delicious, too!

  1. Yum looks like raspberry!! :)

  2. Nailz~thanks :) The more I looked at it, the more I liked it. It's kind of unique.

Tali~yes, it does look like raspberry. Now I want raspberries :)

  3. Very pretty on you. Is that the correct spelling of the polish ?

  4. Lucy~it is. I looked up Roose thinking it was the word Rose in another language, but it doesn't seem to be. So I'm not sure where it comes from.

  5. I always have a sentimental spot for these colours and foil effect polishes as it is what my mum wore all the time when I as growing up. Ahh!
