Here is the fifth swatch in the Get Down Tonight boxed set from the Retro Diva Collection, and like the others I've shown you today and Tuesday, it's a fantastic color. Skate Night is a bit lighter than Short & Sassy, the other red in this group. It also leans slightly more toward a magenta shade than S & S does, although I would definitely still classify this as a red shade. It has very fine red shimmer and again, finished with a high shine. I have one more for you today and that will complete the set. It's a violet shimmer called Stella. I'm anxious to see it on, because when I first opened these, that was the one I was drawn to the most.
The last picture I took of Max, 4th of July weekend.
On another note, I want to thank you all for the comments and e-mails I received regarding my post on Tuesday, mentioning that I thought the time was near to let Max, our beloved German Shepherd go to a better place. We took him to our vet this morning and although it was a heartbreaking decision, it was the right decision. He lived a long and full life and in his usual manner, he was well behaved and calm, looking at me with those sweet eyes as if to say, "It's alright. I'm ready to go now and I've just been waiting until you were ready to let me go." We will miss him forever and although we still have 2 dogs and 2 cats, nothing will ever replace him. I stayed with him until the end and it was a very peaceful transition for him. My brother lost his dog 2 years ago and what he wrote when he went through the same thing are my feelings exactly..."As our most trusted and loving companion, he gave everything he had. We could go on and on about his grace, his gentle nature and his unfailing loyalty, and we could tell story after story about his dedication to us, his adopted family. However, we will choose to say this instead: There is an emptiness in our home that no one else will ever fill, and we know that all of you lucky enough to have loved a dog and been loved in return know exactly what we mean. We miss our boy terribly, but he will forever remain part of our family. We hope that families everywhere feel the same about their loyal companions. Give your dog an extra pat on the head. Give your dog an extra treat with dinner. Today, like every day, they surely deserve it."
