NOTD: OPI Calling All Goddesses & A Kerastase Offer

I hope everyone's having a lovely weekend! Today's NOTD is OPI's Calling All Goddesses! The exclamation point is part of the polish name, don't think it's because I'm all that excited about it. This polish is part of the Greek Isles collection, released I believe, in 2004. It has the smaller, non-pro wide brush and the formula is quite sheer. I used 3 coats and it still wasn't the look I wanted, and it pooled terribly around my cuticles because it's quite thin and runny. The streaks finally disappeared (for the most part) on the 3rd coat, so I figured I'd better quit while I was ahead. It's got a bit of shimmer to it and even a bit of frost, until I applied a top coat. The shimmer was still evident albeit it's very slight, but the slight frost disappeared. The color appears as a very light pearly gray in the bottle, then once applied, more of a muted white with a trace of gray or silver. Is it white? Silver? Gray? I'm not sure, but it's a pretty color, even with the streaks and pooling issues. I got a good price on it as you can see in the picture, so that gives me some consolation.

If anyone enjoys Kerastase hair products, here's a link to a great deal at participating salons. You can get one of their complimentary treatments and a blow dry service for free. They offer 7 different treatments, depending on your hair type. An appointment is needed, and if you scroll down after you get to the link, you can see if there's a salon in your area. May 20 is the date that this offer is good for.

  4. Velvet, yes, I like the name too! I just wish it covered better, because it is a unique color.

Tali~too many coats for me too, I can't sit long enough to wait for it to dry! I bet it would look fantastic on toes, maybe I'll try it with a coat of white polish first to give it a better base.

Lucia~Welcome! Glad you like it, it's different to me, not a harsh white, but a more understated white.

Alexlyndra~it has a really different look to the shimmer, very subtle, but more obvious in the sun.

  5. I also like the name of this one, but I have to say that I like the color less....it nice, but just nice...I think that your idea of applying white base coat first can be nice and I also think that it will look much better with some decorations or Konad on it !

  6. Tuli~cool name, so-so color! I like the concept of the color, but it's just too streaky to be practical. After I removed it I thought "I should've Konaded that!"

  7. I never wear polish this color. Looks pretty on you. I hate when polish pools. What a pain in the neck. This would make a good Konad.

  8. Lucy~I kind of like the look of a whitish polish, but it's hard to find one that isn't a pain to apply!
