Earth Day Manicure & Some Coupons/Samples

Above and Below: My Earth Day look, pre-cleanup.
Below: What I used~see post for color names.
This is my attempt at an Earth Day manicure, clouds and flowers, sky and earth, crazy person and a sponge, however you want to interpret it! I painted my nails white using Orly Pointe Blanche from their French Manicure line. I then used a damp kitchen sponge to imprint the pattern using OPI Dominant Jeans. Before it dried, I applied the nail decals using a toothpick for placement and then applied INM's Out the Door top coat. Because they were not dry, the top coat blended the pattern a bit, which is kind of the look I was going for. My daughter's closet doors have a sponged sky pattern, so I posed them in front of that. Cute or crazy? Perhaps a little bit of both.
Here are a couple of coupon/savings/sample items I came across and wanted to share with you. The first is a 15% off Walgreens coupon in honor of Earth Day and it is only valid today. The Revlon products, including the scented polishes are on sale this week, so check those out. Plus you get a free, reusable shopping bag with your purchase. Must check-out at the cosmetics or photo counter:

This link from Wal-Mart asks you for a very brief bit of information and in return they will send you samples of the new John Frieda Root Awakening Hair Care collection. When I have ordered samples through Wal-Mart's site before, they arrived within a couple of weeks:

I think it looks cute! Great idea for an earth day mani.

When you asked cute or crazy it made me think of that show "tough love" on VH1, have you seen it? Anyway, this guy is trying to help these women find love, he is sort of like a match maker, but he helps them stop their crazy ways. He put them on a stage and had an audience of guys and was telling the guys crazy things that the girls do and they had to hold up their sign that said it was either crazy or cute, lol! So my sign is held up on the "cute" side for your nails :)

Brooke~aw, thank you! I was almost afraid to post it. I've not seen that show before. I'll have to watch for it.

Velvet~thanks for the 'cute sign'!

Alexlyndra~I saw those flowers and thought they'd be cute for Summer. Thanks :)

Love the cloudy look Mary. Really looks pretty. Did anyone happen to catch Oprah's show on Earth Day? Really horrible what is in our oceans. I was really shocked at the amount of trash, plastic, etc.

I rather like the cloudy look - it almost looks like marbling, at least from a distance. . . .

Also, THANK YOU for the coupon! I just scored all of the scented Revlons, as well as six other colors (one a long-time lemming) for just over $2.00 a pop!!!
